Lena is finishing off her new album in the Faroe Islands as she's back from a very cool trip to Abbey Road recording in the famous Studio 2. There she performed live her song 'Stones In My Pocket' with a classical quartet of cello, double bass, vibes and harp. A Faroese television film crew was there as well, so a mini-documentary is in the making. Lena also had a string quartet come by and play on a couple of songs - the nordic sounding 'Let Your Scars Dance' and a new waltz of hers called 'And Life Carries On Without You'.
The trip to Iceland last month was fantastic. A girl with a guitar amongst five brilliant electrified Faroese male bands made a cool and crazy combination! We liked it! Lena is still being played there on the national radio Rás2 where she visited and performed a couple of songs live. More live dates are being scheduled so stay tuuuuuuned!
April 17, 2006
LENA will be visiting Iceland where she'll play a couple of gigs, both in Reykjavík. The first one is at Nasa as part of Atlantic Music Event (AME) where five other Faroese artists also perform ( Høgni Lisberg, Gestir, Deja Vu, Marius and Makrel).
Sunday night LENA will perform at Grand Rokk where Deja Vu also will be playing.
The song 'Can't Erase It' is also on a-rotation at national key station Rás 2 in Iceland. Same song is about to be released as single in Denmark. More soon... See you in Iceland!

English singer/songwriter and arranger, Dan Clews, has agreed to arrange strings and vibes for 'Stones In My Pocket'.
If you'd like to hear 'Stones In My Pocket', you can visit www.myspace.com/lenamusicroom where an acoustic concert version of the song, performed at the Nordic House, Faroe Islands in January 2006, can be heard.

What the project develops into remains to be seen - hopefully an album. LENA is excited about these new songs and the direction they've taken with these musicians.
Next week LENA will be performing together with Faroese singers Eivør Pálsdóttir and Guðrun Sólja Jacobsen at three sold out concerts in The Nordic House on the Faroe Islands.

We'll leave you with the news that all three (!) concerts in The Nordic House on The Faroe Islands on January 28-29 with Eivør Pállsdóttir, Guðrun Sólja Jacobsen and LENA have already sold out.
Danish magazine ‘Woman’ has picked ‘Can’t Erase It’ as one of just four albums they review in their November issue, and the album gets 5 out of 6 possible stars. The review says that ‘Can't Erase It’ is:
'…deeply melodic with a melancholic flavour in a rocking universe. With her poetic, precise lyrics LENA travels along the lines of Dido. LENA's lovely voice has great presence as she tells her little stories. There are very few on the Danish scene in the same field - so there must be an audience thirsting for someone like her.'

For the full Danish version please have a look under 'Media - Reviews'.
The concert tour supporting Beth Hart is going awesomely. The crowd has been very responsive and altogether great. LENA's cd's have sold out several nights after the concerts.

Copenhagen
October 17, 2005
:
"The concert turned into a warm, personal and intimate show, honest in a way you seldom experience. Some moments I just felt like jumping up on stage and giving
Lena
a hug, and the next minute I just sat and felt how the music filled me. I was drawn into the world of
Lena
...and it was touching and beautiful.
Lena
kept showcasing new and exciting aspects of her voice, and on the-a-bit-Nick-Cave'ish sounding song 'Seasons Will Change' we heard a madness-filled-gangster-and-gospel voice which you would believe was impossible to do on stage, but with
Lena
there's probably not a lot that's impossible...
…This was, all in all, an absolutely fantastic concert, with great songs, great storytelling - performed simply and beautifully and sung by one of the best voices we have. Even if she's half Canadian and world class, I'll insist that we'll claim her as Faroese..."
